Hi, I am new to rifles and looking for a scope. I don't know anything about scopes and was wondering if there is a store in the LA/OC area (or beyond if need be) that has a variety to look through, handle, and ask questions?

Scope/optics store in LA/OC?

raffle gear and crammo bruddahs have very little in stock at any given time.
ammo bros do have the excellent weaver tactical scopes, one thing I will say for them.
rifle gear, not so much.
Turners blows goat nads unless you want junk.
The Stockade in Garbage Groove/Worstminster has a much better selection as does Field Time right around the corner from them.
Stockade has a sister store (can't recall the name right now) just north of the 22 on Tustin ave. They have probably the best selection in OC.
You will actually find Schmidt and bender, Night Force, Leupold, Kahles, Swarovski, Leica, Razor HDs, and a ton of low end stuff at those 3 stores. Low end in my opinion means bushnell elite, Tasco, regular Weaver, Nikon, etc...Comment

My local Turners carries Trijicon, Aimpoint, Leupold, EoTech, Vortex, Nikon, Bushnell, Redfield, Burris, etc. Point is, that covers low to high budget optics, and is definitely far from junk.
Not a huge proponent of Turners, but they do have decent optics.Comment

SWFA or EuroOptic. It's a bunch of rubbish at the LGSs, and you are best to look through them at an actual range, so find a friend or go to a shoot. If you want some higher end, modern electronic scopes, you may not have the opportunity to preview, but ATN makes some good products, and check your local laws as much of it isn't CA compliant.Comment

The sister store is called Fowler's Gun Room and they have the premier selection of optics I know of. They have an awesome Leupold display with all kinds of scopes mounted on stocks so you can shoulder and look through them into the parking lot across the street. It's pretty cool. Downside is they are outrageously expensive.raffle gear and crammo bruddahs have very little in stock at any given time.
