Nikon p224 with Red Dot Possible?

    Hey guys,
I've decided to put a Nikon p223 4-12x scope on my AR. I want to mount a red dot on top of the scope. What mounts are ideal for this application? Also, any particular red dot ideal over another for this application. Thanks!

Do you have a mount for the scope to the upper? If not, you can consider a mount integrated with a RDS mount, something like a LT137 in conjunction with a SPR-S mount.

If you want the RDS directly on top of your scope, you can use a mount from PRI that would go around the scope tube and give you 1913 rails from which your RDS can be mounted. PRI also makes the same mount with a RMR base.

Are you committed to stacking them? Given the choice, I would rather offset the RDS in this setup.

        Weaver makes reasonably-priced ring platform:

As far as a MRD, I like my Burris FastFire II. The FastFire III added preset brightnesses to the auto-adjust of the II, and with the III you can change batteries without removing the optic, so no re-sighting.

It was about half the price of the Leupold DeltaPoint. The Deltapoint is nice, but not twice as nice as the FastFire.

My FastFire II is on a 45 degree mount, next to my Vortex 2.5-10x32 FFP. I like the 45 degree mount, i just roll the gun and maintain my cheek weld, I didn't have good luck raising my head when I had it mounted on the top of the riflescope, YMMV.
