    Lousy scope packaging

Picked up a Weaver V24 on sale at Midway. It arrived today via UPS.

Midway shipped it in a plastic bag, and the Weaver box itself is very flimsy. The scope is just loose inside. I don't see any damage really on the scope, but I still don't think Midway should be shipping rifle scopes in plastic bags.

Sent the pics to Midway, received the typical canned response with return instructions.

I wouldn't even waste my time mounting that.

Tell me about it. They shipped me a stripped 308 upper in one of those bags. Just the bare unprotected upper thrown in the bag.

Weaver packages them that way inside the box. I have one and it came that way as well, although Midway can be faulted for the outside packaging. Mine came in a box with filler.
I'd mount it. Should be fine.

Forgot: the zoom ring is going to be extremely tight. Work it loose and it will get better over time.

Makes sense to ship optics and other items that have glass in them that way.

I order some undisclosed items for my business that are not fragile at all and the suppliers pack them like Ft. Knox.

Those scopes are known to be so durable, they dont need any packaging.

Last one I bought just had stamps on the side of the scope.

With what most companies charge for shipping nowadays they could at least make an attempt at a decent packaging job,,

First - what did you expect for chiney?
Second - if you expect that is the roughest service that scope will see, by all means tuck it under your pillow.
Third - you get what you pay for.
After watching WTC Bldg #7 being razed, and considering it's main occupants..

I stumbled onto this note while checking advanced weapons..
"911 = false flag. WTC 7 was brought down by demolition. 47 floors came down in 6 1/2 seconds - not hit by a plane. Just one of hundreds of absurdities that occurred that day. Wake up".

First people complained of their high shipping prices. Now they lowered shipping and people complain about the packaging.
