    trijicon rmr authenticity

I was recently approached my another member with a trade offer regarding a trijicon rmr. He was unsure of the model so he sent over a few pictures.

At first glance the windage knobs looked off, but the picture was too blurry to pull a model number off of or get a logo. I asked for a better pic and upon receiving it noticed the model number to be of a non existent model, as well as the logo being slightly different size as will as missing the trademark symbol. So I sent the seller a few links to how to tell counterfeits from the real thing and was told he'd contact trijicon.

He sent trijicon a serial number to confirm it to be real. He was told the serial number matched a 2010 rm02 but without pictures it was impossible to state if it was a counterfeit or not. So I have since sent pics to trijicon but was wondering if any members here might have some insight seeing as how many authorized trijicon vendors frequent this section. I have included a picture of my rm01 from approximately the same year and the picture the seller sent me. Thanks for the help.

Looks like my gut feeling was correct. Just received this message from trijicon

        Good Morning Jason

        *

Thank you for contacting Trijicon Inc. You are correct; this is not a genuine Trijicon RMR, and please contact us if we can assist in another capacity.

The model number was a dead giveaway. There is no RMH1 model.

I have been seeing more and more fake ACOGs, Eotechs, and other optics lately.

I haven't seen a fake RMR yet but the others are obvious fakes.
