Looking for a mount for a Savage Pre Accutrigger flat base Short action to put on my .243. Have a couple of homeless scopes to try on. Looking to mount a Nikon Prostaff 3x9x40 but the rings are to far apart. Seen a few mounts that interest me such as the Weaver multi slot, EGW 1 piece, and the burris tru mounts. All Ive found seem to be for Long Action. Any help or advice? If I can get as lucky as to get a few part numbers that would be great. Dont want to spend a ton of money. Trying to stay $60 and under. Thanks

Millet and Leupold both make scope bases for the flat receiver Savage that are sold as a set. The front base in both brands is an extended type so you can mount a short scope. They are both affordable and both sold by Midwayusa.Last edited by Mojaveman; 07-13-2014, 8:52 AM."Any honest and hardworking man is made better yet by a large bowl of good chili." -
Ken Farrell has one of the best varieties of Savage scope bases I've seen. Prices are slightly above what you're lookin' to spend but, it is what it is if nobody else has what you want.
