    Night sight recommendations

Hello all. I have a glock 19 gen 3 and I am thinking of adding night sights and the streamlight tlr-1hl. What do you guys think is best bang for your buck? I am leaning towards the meprolight green/green due to the 12 yr warranty Also considering tru glo and trijicon. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Truglo TFOs. Just had another set installed on my G30. The ones on my duty G21 glow great. It sounds completely ridiculous but I've had compliments on my sights at work from the folks on the street. I love the Truglos and will stick with them. Check eBay. Usually can get a deal with free shipping.

Hello Ralston, yes I have heard good things on the truglo sights, the only thing that worries me is the 90 day warranty and I heard that the front sights get "loose" after time. Have you experienced this? On eBay and amazon they are priced the same as the Meprolight and both come with free shipping. I appreciate the reply. I always like to listen to people that actually own the sights.

I haven't had an issue however I've only had the sights installed on one gun for a couple months, the other for a couple hours. The sights do come with an Allen wrench to tighten them down should they come loose. I'll keep an eye on this. I haven't heard anything bad on the sights coming loose. I've been in your position with sight questions in the past and I posted here for answers. Got numerous recommendations for Truglos and Trijicons. I'm very happy with my choice of Truglos. I qualify with both guns at work on the 22nd. If there's an issue I'll let you know.

Sounds good. I have heard that it is very rare but every now and then the front sights gets loose due to the length of it but not sure if its common. The trijicons are the "best" from what I have researched but I have heard that the dots are not protected and dirt/grime/clp gets in there and wears out the glo. My two choices are meprolight and truglo, the truglo outshine them all day and night but the meprolights are a big contender. Very hard choice for me. What is your light set up if you dont mind me asking? surefire? streamlight?

Surefire TLR-1HL. 630 lumen. It's very bright. Also found one at a reasonable price on eBay. I forget the price now. I'm happy with my setup.

My apologies it's a Streamlight TLR-1HL. Not Surefire.

yes, I did alot of research and the streamlight tlr-1hl is the best bang for your buck. Obviously I think you need both the light and night sights right? I dont think the light would do me any justice without night sights. I am not in law enforcement but this is my home defense weapon and all of my buddies (LEO's) tell me that almost all break ins and crimes happen at night.

Thank you for your reply DFence. What was your deciding factor in regards to the meprolight sights?

at least 500 rounds of 10mm (G20) nothing is loose. I just followed a YouTube on the kitchen table. I bought a $50. sight pusher that worked well. You would have to be blind not to see the headlights even in daylight
