    Question about low power variables

I'm looking for a scope with a low enough variable power so that you can track game with both eyes open while looking through the scope (like you can with a 1x red dot if this makes sense).

My question is does this still work at 1.5 or even a 1.75x versus a 1x. Or does the ability to see at 1.5 or 1.75 depend on the persons eyes and therefore not everyone will have the same experience.

This is for an AR that I want to use for yotes where shots can be really close up to as far as I can shoot. Hopefully what I'm asking is being conveyed by my words used in the above post. I don't have anyone with a scope like this that I can look through in person.

    Specifically I'm considering a 1-4x or a 1.5x - ?x, 1.75 -?x, or maybe even a 2-7x Leupold.

Go primary arms 1-6 ACSS if you can get the right one in stock for your cartridge.

Primarily used for timber, or dangerous game. Objective lens sizes are small which seriously affects field of view.
For my money I' rather have a compact 3x9 and carry it on 3. Leupold has a compact 2x7. Not "Tactical"CQC but HUNT ready
      good shooting

Going to go with a leupold 2x7x33.

        Thanks all.

OP was asking for something that would go "as far as I can shoot," on yotes and the like. That implies some sort of BDC using standard AR cartridges. Unless you are shooting only at 300 yards or less, you are going to need it on a yote-sized target, unless it's standing up on it's hind legs to offer a tall target where bullet drop isn't a big deal.

At standard hunting ranges for prey species, a 2-7 or 3-9 with no BDC is plenty fine. Yotes at 500 yards using 5.56mm? Not so much.
