I am really close to pulling the trigger on a Vanguard ED spotting scope. After reading tons of reviews it seems to be the best value for the money but i just cant get over the fact that it's made in China. I will be taking it to the range and out to view wildlife. Any input would be appreciated.

I have used the XF60a and the 82a. They manufacture a pretty solid scope. They will certainly work well for typical range use. I would place them on par with the Bushnell Ultra ED spotting scopes.

I have a Leupold Mark IV with mil-dot reticle that makes life so much easier to call adjustments when spotting at longer distances. I don't know what your budget is, but I literally had to wait over a year of searching for a used one that was in my budget before I bought it.
Buy once, cry once. I didn't want to buy a cheap one first that I would eventually have to try and sell. If you are patient enough like I was, then you can find a decent deal on a used one.Comment

Konus if you're on a budget. Otherwise buy once, cry once and get a Kowa.Comment
