So I heard about this after shot show and it really caught my eye. It's a fixed magnification at 3x the reticle is nice and easy to read. Has a acogy look to it. BDC supposed to be graduated to like 500 yards or so...adequate for the optic that it is ....I had the USMC issue version of the ACOG but the prism crapped out and wouldn't hold zero. I'm now running an aimpoint PRO but I want to build a 20" AR with a magnified scope ...I don't like the nikon or bushnell AR options. This comes with a mount too. It's almost a poor mans ACOG. It's vortex so at least they have a decent reputation built up. Anyone else interested in getting one. Opticsplanet finally has em in stock .

Not a lot out on these yet, and the Vortex videos from Shot Show are limited. I don't think they should have done a green option, and instead focused on more variation in red. They have a distinct knob on top to switch from 1-5 red and 1-5 green. Overkill?
I'm Looking at Spitfire vs. Aimpoint PRO or Comp M2 and so far probably going Aimpoint.Last edited by R19; 05-07-2014, 3:10 PM.You want to sit on the sideline and watch or do you want to play ball? - Tom Buchanan

Thanks. I can see from your original post that you are building to cover longer ranges than what a red dot sight may be optimum for. I'm in the position of having one AR for the foreseeable future with very good iron sights, and have a strong bias towards a red dot sight given my most likely usage.Last edited by R19; 05-08-2014, 11:02 AM.You want to sit on the sideline and watch or do you want to play ball? - Tom Buchanan

Primary Arms makes a similar unit, but 4x. it's cheaper too, and has a better reticle IMO
