Scope for M1A scout

Can anyone suggest some good scopes for M1A scout? Thanks

I ran a Leupold FX-II on mine for several years.

It's a long eye relief optic, so it's perfect on the forward rail (receiver-based scope mounts on M14s are so problematic). I used to run an old Aimpoint CompML on it, which was great for shooting inside of 150m, but beyond that the dot obscured the target too much and I wanted to magnification. That Leupold's got a simple duplex reticle unfortunately, so it's difficult to do holds, but it does have a nice amount of magnification for shooting to 300-400m. It's also a 28mm tube, so you need a mount with spacers.
