Need a recommendation on a budget laser

So I'm trying to fill a pretty particular niche.. I've got a pistol caliber carbine I'd like to put a laser on for a night match.

I've never used a laser before (not generally my thing) so I have no experience whatsoever. I think all I really need is something good to 50yds. 100 would be fine too, but for the most part it will be used at 25yds.

Any help would be great. I used the search function and didn't find any info, so I'm hoping this thread will help out some other folks too.

Look at the Beamshot line. Optics Planet carries them at great prices. Beamshot drop-ships them, as no one has any in inventory, and are S-L-O-W in shipping however. I have had 7 of theirs, red and green. Green can be seen well in full daylight at 30+ yds, red only indoors or at night. I have a spare Ultra 1000 (red) in a low profile mt I'd sell for $50.

On the cheap. Get a cheap laser pointer and a roll of duct tape
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Check out redfield red dot sight it has a laser built in to it for less than $200. Nice thing is you get a reddot and a laser in one pkg.

Thanks for the tips. I won an auction on EBay for a beamshot but I think the seller flaked on me. Was supposed to ship Monday and has yet to.
Anyone used anything from Laserlyte? Found one in the market for sale for $100. Sends Like a good price and the reviews I've seen of it are also good, I'm thinking I may try and get that.

              On a carbine, I'd go with a LaserMax Uni-Max.

Crimson trace rail masters were on sale not too long ago.

CT Rail Master or the Lasermax Unimax:

                  Both are great options.

Primary Arms makes a nice green laser. I have 2, works fine on my HD AR.
I live in the country, goes out to at least 100 yard.

One of the best uses I have found for a laser is with an UNLOADED firearm to practice the trigger press you speak of. Most people are amazed at how much that dot moves when the trigger is pressed, and how much it moves with your breath, heartbeat and natural tremble to your hands.

Practice dry firing with a laser, and you'll be surprised at the improvements of your trigger control

Ended up with a laserlyte http://www.laserlyte.com/products/k-15.
Used it at the match and it worked flawlessly. It came with a tape switch but i prefered to use the always on option for the match.

Lasers aren't about accuracy. They are just an aid for taking fast, heads up shots in close quarters.
