    newb how to sighting question

I've got a Mk ii .22lr with a Bushnell 22rim scope but the scope isn't sighted.
Where can I find a how'to guide. I've zero'd M16's and M4's tons of times but i've never dealt with scopes.

I have been looking for an online guide as well, and I have yet to find anything worth reading. Can anyone give us some suggestions?

Set it up on a stable base, (sandbags, etc) and shoot it at 10 yards. Aim at a defined spot and mark where the bullet lands. Move the scope up , down, left and right according to where you want to move the bullet impact point.

If your bullet is hitting low and left you want to move the scope adjustments "up" and right". Once you get it close, put your target at the distance that you want to sight in at and repeat the process.

Take the windage and elevation controls run them all the way in one direction then count the clicks as you go all they way the other direction. Now back up half way. Now the scope is centered. then mount the scope and get the reticle plumb, straight up and down. Then go to the range and see whee it hits. Try to use the mounts to get as centered as you can. Lock it down and fire for effect. Use the windage and elevation knobs to get it to shoot where you want.
        Hope that helps

A laser bore sighter helps before you go test fire. Aim the laser and adjust your cross hairs. Once at the range pick a spot on your target or get some of the sight-n-see targets, shoot a 3-5 round group, adjust cross hairs, then shoot another group until you feel your scope is zero'd

maybe i should have added this:
I've got a laser sight and i've taken it in my backyard. When I adjust my knobs it doesn't do anything. When I adjust, should I see the dot move in my scope?

1/4 moa adjustments? That's 1/4 " at 100 yards. How big is your backyard?

I've always done it the same way.

Fire a 3-round group at a point on paper. Is your scope on paper? If yes, then adjust as necessary, and fire another 3-round group to make sure you're sighted in. If no, proceed to step 2.

Step 2, at the range, find an obvious target somewhere, like a rock. Aim at the rock and fire, keep track of where your bullet impacted. Left? Right? Up? Down? Adjust scope again, try hitting the rock. Get real close to it? You're on paper. Go back to step 1 now
