I am looking for canted (like maybe 20MOA down) mounts for the scope on my target LR308. I know that I can get a canted base to go on my picatinny rail but I don't want the extra part (just another thing to get loose or move over time). I found this http://shop.aadmount.com/AADMOUNT-35...MOUNT35GII.htm (they also make a 30mm version, and well as one with inserts that allow you to choose different amounts of fixed upward elevation/downward cant) but is there anything else?

And a good rule of thumb on cant:
Shooting to 500m - 0MOA cant
Shooting to 1000m - 20MOA cant
Shooting to 1250m - 30MOA cant
Shooting to 1500m - 40MOA cant
A more detailed way to look at how much can't you need is to consider how much elevation you need for the most extreme distance you plan to shoot. In an ideal world, we'd all shoot with our scope's erector cell centered for minimal distortion, but the reality is that if we're shooting long range we tend to look through the edges of the lens stack. Adding some cant to your base means you're more likely to be centered on the lens stack as your elevation range will likely start further down the available range. Where too much cant is a problem is if you're shooting close, where the opposite will be true.
So for a .223 AR I go with 0MOA cant, a .308WIN that I may shoot from 200-1000m I go with 20MOA cant. and a .300WM or .338LM I shoot to a mile or more, I go with 40MOA cant.--BrandoComment
