    Which Model ACOG Scope

Hi I have a Sig 556 carbine with a 16in Barrel. Which Trijicon ACOG should I get for this set-up? Thanks Ripper

I personally have the TA11F, good eye relief would be the biggest factor most go with the ACOG.
I think it can be confirmed that an alien xenomorph is absolutely no match for good ole' Alabama black snake!

If you're in a survival movie and the hot blond twists her ankle and can't walk, you damn well figure a way to carry her. If it's a dude, you shake his hand and say "best of luck".

Went with a TA44-2, it's the compact ACOG 1.5x16 so it's a compromise between and Aimpoint and a 4x32 Acog, it has a longer eye relief than it's bigger brother :-D

The TA31F, TA33, TA11F, TA31-RCO-M4, and the TA01NSN are setup for a 16". If you are not going to shoot out past 400yds you can use any of the ACOG models.

3.5X > 4X because of the additional eye relief. You'll thank me later

e.g., a TA11F would be better than a TA31f. Chevron reticles are the most adaptable.

Those listed are made for 14.5", but the difference between 14.5" and 16" for the reticle is much less than the difference between 16" and 20".

Keep in mind they're designed for 5.56 pressures, 62gr (M855) and 14.5" - so any changes you make will alter the POI.

No love for the donut, Plinker??? I like my TA11!

And definitely, the extra eye relief of the 3.5x models is worth it.

The 3.5 power ones are the best because of the long eye relief. As far as the BDC goes, you are never going to be using the ideal setup they are calibrated for. So you have to take it out and shoot it to work up your own dope.

                    New to Sig 556

I recently picked up the Sig 556 and purchased the TA24-2. Does anyone have experience or opinions with this Trijicon or any other optics on this rifle?

TA24-2 is a decent scope, the weakness of that platform is that the Amber reticle will wash out really bad in bright sunlight. In those situations you might want to put a piece of dark tape over the fiber optic so that you can see the reticle.

I have a TA01 on my mid-length and love it. I like the crosshairs myself...just feels more comfortable to me. It did take a little work to zero it in but now I get tight groups at 100yd and hit metal plates with easy at 300-400yds.
