Not quite - Weaver's low-budget Kapsa line (and most Burris and Nikons) are made in the Phillipines, but Weaver's Classic, Grand Slam, Super Slams and Tactical lines are (along with high-end Bushnells) are all made in the same Japanese fab. Each made to their brand's designs and specifications, using the lenses and coatings specified by those manufacturers. My point had nothing to do with buy American, the fact is that the Japanese have been making seriously great optics since the 1930s!

Note that I didn't start this debate. You chimed in incorrectly claiming that I had recommended a junk scope that could not even pass a box test, while your Chinese wonder was the greatest scope ever. I've never had (and still don't have) any quarrel with you or your company and if not for that I'd have held my tongue while you advertised your product in the thread. That said I stand by my recommendation. I'd like to see the OP use a hunting scope for hunting and buy a target or varmint rifle for target shooting. If your scope is as good as you say then it might make sense for his future target rifle.

The Chinese do a great many things very well but I have yet to experience a good scope from China (I've tried a few), and cool reticles do not make up for the p-poor to fair quality optics, coatings, and construction that seem to be the bread and butter other Chinese made brands that I've tried. I'm a Primary Arms customer and perhaps one of these days I'll try out one of your three gun scopes but for now I'm not convinced. Until then let's agree to disagree.

Not debating I shoot this day in day out.
The ACSS system videos speak for them selves.
I was not arguing with you I am just telling OP that this new 4-14FFP ACSS is amazing and it is.

I really like the acss reticle but I wouldn't recommend it for a hunting optic. During daylight it works nice and worked well but the quality of the glass let me down on two separate evenings on a recent hunting trip to texas. During the day it worked well but at dusk the lower quality glass really starts to show. I passed on shots two nights in a row. the first night I got my initial shot off on a rather large group of boar we stocked up on dropping one but once the rest of them scattered the glass was not crisp enough to be able to quickly acquire the other targets and take humane shots with propped leads. I attempted to use the illuminated reticle but it really wasn't crisp enough. My initial shot was taken at 125 yards. The second evening I stalked up on a pair of hogs at 250 yards rooting in a cattle field among a herd of cattle. In an empty feild I probably would of taken the shot but with them being surrounded by moving livestock in combination with the low light I decided to pass on the shot.

Even with this I am still happy with the PA 1-6 but I now know its strengths and weakness. Both evenings I would have traded the reticle for the crisper glass of my swfa 1-6 or my Bushnell hdmr. I realize both scopes are in another price bracket but when you spend a good amount of money on hunting trips spending a few hundred extra on better glass really shouldn't be an issue. Hopefully PA believes enough in their product to invest in a higher end line of their optics, but I think I speak on behalf of many people when I advise that maybe the lay off trying to cram their new reticle down everyone's throat. Answer questions and explaining things is one thing but to have one single person pushing the reticle in every single thread begins to turn people off to the product. Good products will pretty much sell themselves on these forums once forum members begin to review them and share their findings with everyone else. If the acss is light years ahead of everything else you will begin to see everyone use it and it will praised by everyone who comes in contact with it.

With my above statement said I will still try the new 4-14FFP ACSS HUD since $400 really isn't much of an investment to test it out. But at the same time I dont expect it blow quality optics out of the water. But I do think with better glass similar to swfa hd glass in combination with the acss reticle PA will have a killer optic

The new 1-6 ACSS has super clear glass!
We are constantly trying to improve. This new model is incredible. I use the old 1-6 to coyote hunt and never had a problem seeing in low light. We are hitting them 400-500 yards out and sometimes on the move! I now have retired from killing for sport unless I plan to eat it. Thanks to procoyotehunter i got to taste some coyote jerky and it was NASTY!! Lol.

Wow you think highly of your product cool. But to say it light years ahead of the rest is pure fud .
I as just a reader now will think twice before I buying one cause of the unresonable response . I looked at you acss system nothing beyond light years there.

Its out shooting just about anything you can think of due to the reticle. Its a combat reticle designed to engage targets of unknown distance in windy conditions and while moving !
Nothing I repeat nothing can DMR the way it does!

We test out in 1000 palms in CA come and try it.
What is light years ahead is ACSS HUD reticle.
Read up on it and understand how it works. It is designed to solve the problems faced in sniper competitions. In order to appreciate it you have to be shooting at targets of unknown distance in wind with movers. The 2.5x and 1-6x are taking 3 gun comps and hitting man size targets 800 yards out. The 4-14 is their big brother

                      Counter sniper?!?

If I were you I would rock the vortex viper FFP 4-16 in your reticle of choice. Weights not too bad, mechanical is repeatable and solid, glass quality is good and you can't beat the warranty. Second choice would be weaver tactical 3-15 another solid performer. You might think you want more top end but in that price range I would stay below 20x, and for hunting out to 400 10x would be plenty.

If you can find it check out a used Springfield 6X20x56 mil dot. They don't make them any more but they are lifetime warrantied and should do everything you are asking at the price you are looking.

When hunting field of view is important

Go look at through a 3-9x40 then pick up a 3-9x50
