Eotech problem

I have an eotech exps 3-0. The "1moa" dot seems to be really pixilated. I've read that this is normal. BUT mine is like a long vertical slightly crooked line. There is no way it is 1moa. Has anyone ever experienced this? Am I just being over critical? What are my options?

Take a picture and post it, man. The center dot should not look like anything but a very small dot.

I had the same thing happen, so I took a photo of the "reticle" and realized that it was my bad eyesight that was causing the problem. I went and got a new lens prescription and now my EO Tech is just fine.

Does any other part of the reticle appear more pixilated or is it only the 1moa center dot? Pictures are always helpful.

Yup, take a picture of the reticle, and it if looks normal in the picture the problem is your eyes and not the eotech. I'm not saying that it's impossible that the eotech has a problem, but lots of people find out their eyesight isn't as great as they thought it was.

Looks fine. Have you read the eotech website faq where they describe that the sight is composed of hundreds of pixels?

Yea I saw that. The other ones I've looked through look fine. I think I might just be over critical. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't having an unnecessary problem. Thanks for your input!

And I got the impression from eotech's website that the pixilation people complain about is about the 65moa ring and the 1moa dot should be perfect. That was one of the major reasons I went for an eotech over an aimpoint with the 2moa dot

It's not a solid circle and dot like you see in brochures. If you look closely, you can see the pixels. If you focus on the target, the reticle will look better because your focus is no longer on the reticle.

Have someone else (with known good vision) look at it to see if they see the same image. My brother got me an eotech and I thougt it was broken as The image appeared to be very pixelated and had lines goin all over the place. I had my wife look at it (she has great vision) and the image was crisp for her. Turns out I have astigmatism. Now I look like

See if you can borrow a magnifier and then look at it. That clears things up quite a bit.

While I agree with the previous posts about pixelation, the 1 MOA dot should not look like a smudge. Mine is a perfect 1 MOA dot. I can't tell if it's due to the picture quality or if your reticle really looks like that though.

Try this: put up your rear iron sight with the small aperture and look through the rear sight at the Eotech reticle (the small aperture acts like a focus lens). Another option is to put a magnifier behind your optic. If the center dot still looks like that, then I would give the Eotech folks a call.

Yea it looks the same through my magnifier. It works great hitting steel from 50-300 yards but when I set up the bipod and try to get really tight groups at 100 yards on paper is when I have the problem. It almost seems like I can use the top left part of the 1moa dot or the slanted part if that makes sense....... I think since I registered it with eotech when I got it I can send it in? Not sure tho.
