    Mosin Scope help

I want to put a scope on my mosin negant 91/30. I'm leaning towards the Brass Stacker mount and I noticed they also sell the NcSTAR 2.75x22mm Scout Scope....is it any good? I'm not familiar with scopes at all, this will be my 1st. I know that I'll need a long eye relief. Any reasonably priced scopes out there that I should consider? Any brands to steer clear of? Thanks

NcStar can't handle the recoil from that. Look in the optics section.

I have a NcStar scout scope 2-7x32 mounted directly to rear sight dovetail and it has held zero for just over 100 rounds so far. Works for me.

Having experience with the brand… I would error on the side of caution.

If you do purchase it and it breaks, which it probably will, especially on a rifle which that much recoil, just sum it up to a noob tax then buy something decent.

UTG and NcStar optics rarely pay dividend to its owners… and if they do, you are part of the elite few who actually didn’t receive a turd in a box.

If someone wants to know my story; it was an NcStar pistol scope where the reticle shattered from the earth shaking recoil of my .22 LR U22 Neos target pistol.

You will need a bent bolt for that, though.

Regardless, I'd recommend both JMECK and a bent bolt. Get the bent bolt even if you don't wind up putting a scope on it. It'll pay off in the long run, the first time you start having sticky-bolt syndrome ... makes a world of difference.

+1. Just be careful when bending that little strap around the base of the receiver/barrel.

                  How do you recomend bending?

Well I recall using some sharpie's to line it up square on the barrel bottom and then literally used finger pressure to bend it and make sure the lines I drew remained lined up with my positioning. The last mile on the 90 degree angle on the left side was pliers (needle nose). It really hasn't moved and kept zero. I did use blue loctite on the Allen head screws.
