I'm kind of confused here, is there something wrong, we are supposed to be seeing?

Or did you just want to know if that is what the reticle looks like?

I'm assuming the it's your photo skills focused on the reticle that for some weird reason have made you EOTECH all cloudy. If that's what it really looks like, then yes something is wrong.

Here's a pic of my 512 mounted in front of my ACOG TA11F.

I think it can be confirmed that an alien xenomorph is absolutely no match for good ole' Alabama black snake!

That looks a bit odd, as if it was painted. Mine looks more grainy, not fuzzy, but a little like tightly grouped pixels. Maybe it is just the way the photo came out.

I'm with you in that it looks "fake", but the fact that you can't even see through it, makes it seem more like the OP's photo skills.

the Rifle was pointed at the ground so yes the background was blurry, The Camera was focused on the red. Its not my skills, skills are fine.
The brightness also messes with the contrast, too bright makes it look fuzzy so I turn it down.

            So back to your post.

What are you asking? I'm not trying to be rude, it's just I don't get it. Are you asking if there is a problem, or are you trying to be funny, and my dense self is not picking up on it?

my question was is that what you see, basically a ring but seeing your pic yours is grainy but i guess that's because how lasers are.
also the brightness thing also makes it look grainy.

LOL, I already got yelled at before for this.

here is the setup, just so you know no rifles were involved.

Yeah they all look like that, as was said earlier. It looks like tightly packed pixels.

In the shot I took, it was very bright outside, so I had my 512 turned up pretty high, which of course enhances the pixilation.

I get yelled at for that all the time by my neighbors, so now I just stay inside when I point my guns at their house

Just FYI - allowing your camera to focus on the reticle would be like you focusing on the reticle, which is not what you're supposed to do. You should take a picture through it allowing your camera to focus on something about 50yds out.

Pixellation comes from interference of a coherent laser. Remember all red dot reticles should be turned up so you can just barely, but quickly, locate and identify the dot in the brightest area you'll be operating. It should never be "bright".

The graininess is called laser speckle. All visible lasers have it. If the speckle is evened out by the focus being a bit off in the OP's pic, that's fine, but if that's what the reticle actually looks like (smooth and sharp with no speckle), it looks like it could be an LED reticle rather than a laser reticle. I'd be concerned that an Eotech with no speckle is a look-alike.

I have zero idea how the combination would be workable on an fal...the ACOG's eyepiece must be at least 2-3 inches back from the front end of the buttstock.

How in hell do you get a repeatable cheek weld??

I'd think you'd get a much more functional setup with a scope/mount combo designed for the fal...maybe a trilux or Hendsholt (sp??).
