My beloved 180 series Mini-14 is missing the factory front sight; no real loss there...
Saw the post on perfect union mini 14 forum and I ordered a Choate front sight/flash hider and will be cutting off the "offending feature" to get the front sights back and remain featureless.
Somehow the item shipped without any holes for the roll pins. I'm not sure I want to wait 2 weeks for the return and re-order process.
The set screw on the bottom works.
2 options once i get everything lined and in place.
Assuming a tight press fit, I could apply some red or blue loctite before installing and it would adhere the sight in place.
Or if the sight is a looser fit i could judiciously solder it on.
Might anyone have some advice about this?
The loctite option seems less secure, but easier to reverse.
The solder seems very secure, but harder to reverse.
The standard roll pin attachment method seems to have both attributes along with the security of 2 pinned steel bars. But I need to wait for a new one to arrive...
Thanks for your ideas.
