God I hope not! But just like cars with all the nanny features such as traction control and anti-lock brakes, the skill of shooting will go the same way as the skill of driving. Takes a generation or two.

Does it read wind?If not then the hardest part of any firing solution still applies. The Art of shooting remains. It might help with the firing solution to a degree but still requires a level shooting wind reading SOB behind the trigger to make the shot.

Exactly, calculating wind values and upwind is the hardest part.
Still calculating LOS,Coriolis,cant,spin d,range and environmental conditions will be a big help.
Hopefully in the near future it will be more compact with an extended range. I would love to see live fire of it and not some edited marketing video,better yet would love to shoot one. I have always struggled getting a good laser range signal having to mil and at the end of it all you still need a stable platform,breathing and trigger control.The fundamentals of marksmanship remain.

The NRA mag American Rifleman had an article on the 2020. In it they said that the range was intentionally limited to ranges that were considered "hunting" ranges. I read elsewhere that the unit is actually capable of working far beyond the self-imposed limits of the manufacturer for "ethical" reasons.

20k? i'll pass, can buy alot of toys other than just gimmicky optics, but tons of guns on my list, and still have money left over to buy some good optics

Funny, I was at Cabela's today and they had one on the gun rack. IIRC the price tag was $3700 and yes, it was absurdly heavy. I don't see them selling many unless they get the weight down.
