Looking for an optic for an LMT MWS .308 please help!

I'd appreciate any help or advice from anyone who owns an MWS or has experience with them and what you think of the options I've looked at getting for it. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks guys!

    Again, thanks for the advice!

Id go with the USO or the Nightforce out of those 3, youll probably want the slightly additional mag available to you.

I was going to get that NXS for my MWS, but I cheaped out and went with the new vortex viper pst 2.5-10x32 FFP that just came out at the time. Ive been happy with it.

I have a similar rifle, a 16" LWRC REPR. I had the Vortex 1-6x on it and liked it but wanted more magnification to better utilize the 7.62 cartridge. So I stepped it up to a Leupold MK6 3-18x and Im running an Aimpoint T1 off at a 45* for close shots.
If you really like the NF get the newer model with the 42 or 44mm objective lens, I forget which one it is. I hear it is a great scope it is 2nd focal plane though FYI.
In 2014 Vortex is coming out with the 1-6x with different reticles so I would get that over the JM reticle unless you are going for 3gun.

All great choices. I'd personally be happy with any of them on a 16" LMT 308.

My son has a Bushnell ERS 3.5-21x50mm on his LMT MWS. You should take a look at that scope.

Appreciate everyone's comments, why the 42 or 44 mm? and I'd like to stick with Nightforce, US Optics, but never tried a Leupold, anyone else have any suggestions??

I really liked the 2.5-10 x32 MD on my MWS. The rife is on the heavy side and the NF 10 power is light and will get you out there on practical targets. Its a good match. If your going up to the 3.5-15 range I would want a MIL/MIL FFP scope.

The Suggestion of the 3.5-21 Bushnell is a good one. Compact, MIL/MIL, FFP and a great reticle.

Before you head off and buy something remember that shot show is right around the corner and a lot of new options may be on the table. I would wait the few weeks before making a decision.

I plan to shoot anywhere from 300-as far as this ****er reaches (excuse my french). I'm also possibly picking up a FN 17s or 16s, but thats a diff topic for diff day.

This might sound stupid but what is FFP? I also have the stainless steel version on DROS not the chrome, not that it matters.

Cypris, do you have any experience with it?

Have you heard anything that might be coming out that would really be worth waiting for???

Do you have any pics of your rifle with the 2.5-10 on it? and again this may sound stupid but MIL/MIL FFP? I only chose those links to scopes for that scope, I am LOST on which reticle is best, I've tried many, suggestions???

                      Thanks again in advance everyone!

The updated 2.5-10x that has the bigger objective allows better light gathering. Their is also numerous upgrades to the updated scope.
US Optics is great, I personally do not have any opinions on them as I have no experience with them but from what I hear they are awesome. I would like to get one of their 1-8x scopes in the future though.

If you plan to stretch its legs and are starting at 300 yards then forget the Vortex 1-6x as it wont be enough.

FFP is when you adjust the mag and the reticle grows or shrinks in relation to which way you turn the mag ring, IE more mag or less mag.

2nd focal plane the reticle stays the same regardless of what power you are on in the mag range.

I have a NF 2.5-10x by 32 on my LMT and it seems to fit the bill just right for the ranges the rifle is capable of. NF newest version is a 42mm model that has even better low light capability.
