    I believe it just sepends on the method they use to project the light onto the reticle. I had an RCO that was like the one on top, and now I have an ECOS that spills farther out on the reticle the way the image on the bottom does.
    No idea why they've done this. Just and observation through my experience.

      Either way it won't matter since you can't positively ID something at that range in the dark anyhow.

        True but it will help/ be easier to "pick up" during the day against dark backgrounds at furthur distances right?

          I suppose that could be true. But 600 is an awful lot of distance to shoot anything with any precision on an ACOG. You're right though, I'd rather have it than not.

          Guess I should go see what mine looks like.

            picked mine up early this year and the tritium bleeds a little bit to 600, I don't think its intentional though....

              I think you guys are talking about the fiber optic. Tritium isn't bright enough to visibly glow in daylight.

                The green reticles glow nice and bright in the dark, and spill over like you see in the above simulation.
