There is nothing like seeing the scope your interested in live action in real time.
If I were you I would save some lunch money and get the New PA 1-6 ACSS coming. The glass, upgraded reticle and over all build of the scope is amazing! 800 yard shots with 5.56 and super fast CQB with out the need of a battery.
If your looking for true capability it does not get better then this! The tactical capabilities of the ACSS system are undeniable. If you look on youtube under ACSS scope you can see it tested. This was made for the M4/M16/AR15 platform.

I did quite a bit of research looking not for the cheapest/low end scope, but the one that offered the best value for my money/budget. Hands down the PA ASCC 1-6 at its price point. It's not a Leopold for magnification, nor a AimPoint for red dot, but for the price, you functionally get both.

Shot in two tactical rifle and one 3Gun match already and so far so good. We'll see how it performs and last over time. Again, not the best out there in terms of quality, but the best value in terms of price, quality and functionality IMHO. Try it, you might just like it.

Now that Optisan looks nice! I believe the previous Opiston 1-6x had true 1x so I'm hoping the new one with ACSS will have true 1x as well

Looks true to me but I don't get what the big deal about the true 1x is. I keep most SFP at 1.5-2.5 for me I try to match the size of the object meaning the size of how it appears to my eye. Another thing I don't get is day time illumination. For me its much easier to pick up a thick black horseshoe against a light background then light on light. I guess different things work for different people.

+1 For the P223. Huge quality difference between that and the lower end ones and, for only $50 more, it feels like a steal.

True 1x is something people read on the internet and think it is more important than it really is. I have a Vortex 2.5-10x32 that is as quick as a "true 1x" variable.

"True 1x" is the keymod of optics. People want it but don't really know why.
