How much to pay for a used spotting scope?

Let's say I was looking at a Leupold. Do scopes hold there value? A lot of scopes don't get a lot of use.

Can you please be more vague? J/K

Most decent optics with high quality glass hold their value pretty good.

I would expect that you could pay up to 75% and higher depending on the model, condition, and the current brand new price, not to mention how motivated the seller is.

You can apply this to camera lenses, gun scopes, telescopes, etc.

Would anyone agree that high end scopes get discounted more because their are less buyers in the high end. Can you argue this is similiar to a luxury car.

I don't know what you consider high end... but I would be hard pressed to find a discount for most of the high end stuff I want.

Vendors typically want to maintain their margins, and people shopping for high end items, are going so because they want the best, and are prepared to pay for it.

Value class items is where the pricing competition starts and where deeper discounts can be found.

With all the big brands they have excellent warranty programs.

If you are not bothered by external wear that has no effect on function and visual quality, you can find good deals. A few of the big web based store have demo sales on stuff, that can be a good option.

Find a broken Vortex and send it in for repair...
Laws against murder and attempted murder should have been the only gun control laws ever needed in America...
