    I need the right scope

Will be getting a Ruger 10/22 takedown model for Christmas. Need a scope that can stay on the riffle and still fit in the carry bag. Looking to spend around $200. Also I guess the mounting rings will need to be the lower type.
    Thanks

I was in a similar situation awhile back. I ended up using a TRS-25 red dot on mine. Some helpful threads, in a thread, in a thread on this below.

Lots of options. I boiled it down to the Mueller APV AO 4.5-14 x 44 and a Leupold. I ended up getting the Leupold 2-7 x 33 with Leupold qr rings (medium) from Midwayusa for about $220 shipped with discounts.

I have to remove the scope to fit the bag but it fits nicely in the small slot.

So far so good. I can move this set up to my AR in the future.

An adjustable objective to change the parallax is a nice feature to consider.

I have this scope and I love it. Nikon has some of the best glass in the sub-$200 price range. Lots of positive comments on the Mueller too.

              Thanks

Ended up with The Leupold Rimfire FX-1 4 power 28mm,,, only 9.2" long with low profile, was told it will fit in the carry bag with scope mounted. Lots of good reviews on several different sites. $229 was a bit more than I planned on spending but now I have 3 rifles all with Leupolds. MERRY CHRISTMAS to all.

I always thought that rifle would work great with a low profile reflex red dot...it just looks right.

The TD isn't a bench rifle, so a Weaver RV7 will do just fine. It should also fit in the TD case while mounted to the rifle..
