    Swarovski customer service?

Anyone ever have to deal with them before? I've spent some time researching it tonight and have to call them tomorrow. I've got a set of EL 10x42 HDs that won't stay in focus. Less than a year old, and they're garbage. Not happy about it, even though I know that everything can break.

Using the 8x42 HD Leicas as backup until I get them figured out...but irritated...

Does Swarovski have good warranty service turnaround time?

Hard to say as this forum isn't really much for hunting. My dads leicas had an ocular go out of focus and he told me the online reviews were that leica usa was jerking people around and that he had contacted them multiple times with no response. I told him I would take care of it and found the polar opposite was my experience; leica usa was great. I say this bc you may find your swaro experience to vary vastly from others. You should have no issues.

      Spyder-

Call the guys at Tracy Rifle & Pistol. I had a PPT there last month and spoke to then about the Swarovski line of optics they carry. Good bunch of guys and they may be able to give you direction!

Well so far, I'm not impressed. I haven't been able to talk to a real person, as all of their phone lines go directly to voicemail. I created a service account via their website, and they gave me a place to send it back to for warranty repair, but I have to pay for to ship it and insure it out of my own pocket.
I would expect that a three thousand dollar set of binoculars, that are a year old, and have a lifetime warranty, would not cost me an arm and a leg to get repaired.

Will update when I learn more.

Not to stir the pot, but complaining about shipping costing an arm and a leg for 3k worth of glass?

Leupold has the same gig, send in your busted product on your dime with a note of issue and return address and contact info.

I agree that Leupold and Swaro arn't on the same level "quality" wise but customer service would be similar I'd guess.

Damn right I'm complaining about paying an extra hundred bucks to ship it in, after paying 3 grand for them a year ago. If I have to send them in every damn year, then it won't take long before I should have just bought two sets of Leicas instead.

Spyder - I spent $28 to ship a pair of leicas back east with $1k insurance with delivery confirmation and signature required via USPS.

I was annoyed at having to pay for shipping but it worked out ok.

Shipped them back today. Cost $40 for shipping and 2G worth of insurance. If they get lost, I'm still out almost a grand. I'll update as things go on.

Well, they received it, and the next day I was updated to "Warranty repair pending"...so I guess that's good.

I'm still grumpy about having to pay shipping to return them when it's been a year...but I'll get over it.

Why don't you work thru a distributor, like optics planet?

I had issues with a S/B and never spoke to SB. They did all the talking to the rep and took care of it.

Got 'em back last Wednesday. They seem to be fixed. Surprised it took a month, and still not happy about paying for shipping and a bunch of insurance, but at least I have them back.
