    Weaver Rail

I am trying to determine which scope ring height to purchase - can someone tell me what is the thickness of a weaver rail? I am guessing about 0.276" ???

I'm using a Weaver 430T base on my 10/22. Somewhat difficult to measure the base mounted, but I'm seeing it closer to .2" from base bottom to where the bottom of the rings should seat in between the rail lugs.
Your number would make more sense to me for the measurement from base to the top of the lugs.

For what it's worth, I use the 430T base and Burris XTR low rings (.25") to mount a Nikon 3-9X40. The scope bell is pretty darn close to the bull barrel, exactly the way I like it.
I would expect it to have somewhat more clearance on a factory tapered barrel.

    Hope this helps?

Laws against murder and attempted murder should have been the only gun control laws ever needed in America...
