    Barska spotting scope

Saw a deal at big 5 for a 60x power barska spotting scope. Worth getting ? Any one have experience with this? Not looking to go any further than 100 yds with this. Thanks.

    No, they aren't worth getting.
Yes, I have experience with these.
Even at 100 yards they suck.

Decent budget spotting scope? konuspot 80.

Unfortunately, Barska optics are pretty much crap in my personal opinion---consider buying a much better used scope---check the Calguns market threads or place a WTB ad...

You will do as well if you just get a paper towel tube and tape it to a tri-pod.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

I have one and I'm looking to replace it with better binoculars. I use it only to sight-in my rifles also, but I don't use it beyond 100 yards. I find myself using another riflescope for spotting at ranges beyond 100 yards.

The only good thing I can say about the Barska scope is, it is better than having nothing. Well, two things: the second thing is, I have something else to shoot at/through once I get a replacement.

Bought one thinking it would be sufficient at even 100 yards for my .22's and .223's.

                  NOT WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was finding myself using my Truglo 6-24x44 scope to spot my shots more than the Barska. I sold it promptly for less than half what I paid. I've purchased a Redfield Rampage 20-60, and a Vortex Nomad 20-60 angled and I use the Vortex the most. The Leupold Ventana are a good buy on a budget also. Konuspot 80 is a great scope, but don't chince out on the tripod because its a big ol' heavy SOB that cheap tripods won't work with. Yes I've had experience with all of the scopes mentioned here too. The Konuspot 100 is even better I thought, but its a behemoth!

One you look thru good/great optics you become spoiled . Don't waste you're time looking at crap. Buy good used stuff if you cant afford new. Once I got my Kowa I cant look thru the crappy stuff. Buy once; cry once

The cheapo spotting scope works well enough for me to see 308 holes at 100 yards. If you are only getting it to scope in a 30 caliber once or twice go for it.

I ended up spending the extra money on a redfield rampage spotting scope. Very clear and i cant wait to use it
