Scope [WITH QD RINGS] for 10/22 takedown, is BDC necessary?

I am looking for a scope to put on my takedown.

I have decided that i want qd rings, with a see though base mount, and hi vis sights.

Now the question is, what scope?

I have seen many many threads that talk about scoped for the ruger td but all of them (almost) have been about scopes that will fit in the bag while still attached.

If that's not really an issue for me. Since ill be using leupold or warne qd rings, what would you guys personally choose or recommend for a rimfire scope?

    Is BDC really needed?

My price range is from 100-300 for a scope on my .22 lr, more toward the 300+ range if its not a rimfire scope and i can use it for other things.

Also, what rings, and raise/see though base would you guys recommend?

Ive been looking at weaver, warne, leupold. and to be honest, can NOT tell the difference.

Please and thanks for any advice

If your looking on the cheap I got a BSA sweet 3x9 with bdc for 40$ from sportsmanship guide, pretty clear. Haven't dialed it in yet but happy with it so far.

For my 10/22 Takedown, I ordered the following:

Nikon PROSTAFF 3-9x40 Matte BDC Scope

Leapers UTG Tactical Low Profile Rail Mount for Ruger 10/22 Rifle - Low Profile with Middle V-cut Allowing Use of Iron Sights

Leapers Max Strength LE Grade Quick Detach Picatinny Rings: 2PCs, 1" Diam, Lo Profile

I originally ordered the High Profile rings, but they were way too tall. The Lo Profile allow me to remove the barrel without removing the scope, although I do remove the scope to slide it into the pocket next to the barrel in the TD case. The ring height you need will depend on the scope you choose.

I like the BDC, so if I'm zeroed at 50 or 75 yards, I can confidently hold over at longer distances and still hit my target.

But, I can also vote for the Mueller APV 4.5-14x40 AO (Black). I purchased a CZ455 Varmint Evolution .17 HMR and the Mueller scope and sunshade came with it. Here is a picture of my Goddaughter's first five shots @ 100 yards with the Varmint Evo and Mueller scope:

It's very good that you have narrowed down your price range, but "what scope" depends on what you're going to do with it (target, hunting, both) and at what distances. If you're hunting squirrels in the woods, and 50 yards is the farthest you can see, 14x is probably not going to be useful.
If you''re target shooting at 200 yards, a fixed 4x is probably not going make you happy, either.

As far as mounts, I'm a fan of the DNZ ring/base combination. I have six on my personal rifles, including two 10/22s and a Ruger Charger. It has a number of things going for it – it starts as a solid block, and the first CNC machining pass makes what becomes the ring centers... the rings cannot be misaligned. It also eliminates any possibility of the rings loosening from recoil. It’s hard anodized, requires no lapping, has hex-head screws, and best of all – made in the USA, in North Carolina. I can’t say enough good things about them – they look like they grew out of the top of the gun.
