    Most durable long range scope

    Hello Calguns,

I am looking into some optics for long range.
Which long range scopes can take the most beating?

    Between $2000-$3500
    20x-25x magnification.

    Leupold, S&B, night force?
Which optic do you recommend 1000+ yard rifle with intent to test in the field.

    Thank you.

I would say US Optics in terms of a scope that you can literally beat the thing and it still works. I use S&B, USO, Leupold, NF and Bushnell and I would pick the USO as the most robust. JMHO

Night Force is pretty rugged. USO's are good after they go back for work the first time! S&B's are nice but have seen to many go tits up. Bushnells are great but glass is not nearly as good as other high end scopes. NightForce would be my choice if I didnt need FFP. Other wise S&B or Premier.

I am happy with my Nightforce scopes on both of my 50bmg rifles. Have shot them to 1400+ yards.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Does the night force need a battery? That would be a big deciding factor for me.

Does it need one...not really but it does have a lit reticle as do a lot of high end scopes.

So did Nightforce repair the scope under warranty?

Not being in an active combat zone I'd look for a product by a company with the best warranty and reputation for the best customer service.

There Is a report somewhere between NF and S&B that during sub zero temps theS&B leaked while the NF held like a champ

Tread careful. The S&B guys don't take kindly to this.......... My NF took a spill down the hill and was good as new. It was bad, I had to buy new AICS skins, and re duracoat the rifle. You would be hard pressed to beat a NSX for reliability. I hear good things about the HDMR's thow. The Mark6 is also a front runner. Its not your mark 4, its got AWESOME glass and got the M110 contact award. Personal experience, NF is stellar. I have a 5.5-22 and will be getting a 3.5-15 soon.

should I be putting my flame suit on???

lol like I said, I heard here was a report, I have no experience with S&B and I only had range time with the NF not field time so I cannot say anything regarding this topic

however, not to threadjack the Bushnell HDMR is solid? cause for $1250 that is some nice glass right there

I have handled that exact scope.
                        It's a pretty cool story.

                          USO or Nightforce.

USO is in Cypress, CA. Just walk in and drop off, if any issues.

And Nightforce, they take care of you/me.

USO took care of me. I purchased a scope from a fellow calgunner about a year later had some issues. USO honored the lifetime warranty no questions or heartache. Had the scope back home in less than 2 weeks good as new. Top service all the way.
