    ACOG TA31F BDC on a PTR91

Hi everyone, I've been toying with the idea of getting a PTR91, and was thinking of mounting my TA31F on the rifle using either the Trijicon claw mount (TA03) or the low profile 1913 picatinny mount.

My biggest concerns are cheek weld and eye relief for the scope using either mount, and if the bullet drop compensator will work from an 18" barrel .308 rifle. I've been trying to compare the muzzle velocity from my 14.5" AR15 barrel to the PTR91 18" configuration, but haven't found enough data to do a comparison. Does anyone have experience that can comment on either issue? A final I issue I had was clearance of the rear sight using an ACOG, I wasn't sure if the sight would be too tall to fit underneath.

      Nice resurrection! LMAO.

The BDC will probably be accurate out to 400'ish yards....anything past that and you will have to compensate (holdover) for the different ballistics. It really depends on which round you're using. A higher BC .308 round will force you to aim the BDC mark lower than your desired POI, being that the 5.56 round has a lower BC and will drop faster.

I dont think I would shoot a .308 with a TA31F, given the eye relief.....you might just give yourself a nice one-sided raccoon look.
