Which scope should I keep?

Comrades,

I have a 10/22 rifle and two scopes. Which ones should I keep?

Ones is the Simmons .22 LR Cal Turrets 3-9x40 Pro Target Riflescope


The other is the BSA Majestic DX 3.5-10 x 44mm Rifle Scope

I haven’t used either scope…

But I would probably go with the Simmons simply because I think a smaller objective is a better fit on a 10/22, parallax adjustment, and I prefer exposed turrets.

The Simmons is better suited to a .22 with the adjustable parallax and BDC knobs.

I would keep the simmons simply because the other is bsa.

Bsa is not known for quality.

Sell that to some airsoft kid.

Well, I am a newbie, so yeah, I want to know. Besides, the specs on the BSA did not look too shabby when I bought it. I guess I learn that specs is not everything.

Specs is not everything. I have a BSA that came on a .22 I purchased. It's specs are 6-24x40 illuminated mildot with adjustable objective. This is virtually the exact same specs as the Vortex Viper Pst 6-24x50 illuminated mil FFP adjustable objective that I have on a remington 700. Pst=$900 BSA=$75

I noticed the difference when I was shooting the 10/22 with the BSA and my bullet holes slowly started moving to the left side of the target, I may not be the best shot, but it was quite a noticeable movement when I was aiming at the same spot while using a bipod and sandbag. I took off the turret caps and found the screws on the turret's had worked loose and the turrets were moving on their own. What a piece of crap if a .22lr has enough recoil to do that, or perhaps the bouncing in the car was at fault.

In contrast, the PST can be moved and set and returned to the previous zero point and everything stays the same. It just plain works. This is not a you should buy a PST post, it's just what I have to compare to, there are much nicer scopes and some other great ones at the same price point, in fact I'm not overly impressed with the glass of the pst, but the features it has are quite nice for target shooting.

Anyways, short post long, specs are not everything. Keep your Simmons.
