Sope/mount flex during recoil?

    Sope/mount flex during recoil?

    Saw this on youtube:



    Obviously since it's a .50 i'm sure that's why it flexes so much. It almost looks like the scope hits the rail at one point because of the flexing. Does this kind of flex happens even with smaller calibers?

    I would imagine it probably does to at least some degree, especially on semi auto's because of all the moving parts during recoil. I normally use at least 3, if not 4 scope rings on my rifles to reduce the amount of flex in the scope tube. Not sure how much it actually helps, if any. I need to get one of those high speed cameras.....

      Yes, there is flex at lower calibers, albeit less. It's amazing how more scopes don't break!
