Anyone shooting with these? I have a Nikon p-223 scope and have it sighted in at 100 yards. It would be nice to have a set of irons for targets up closer so I'm trying to explore options.

Red Dot on a 45 degree mount will be a much better option! -
I have a set of Dueck Defense offset sights mounted beside a Nikon M-223 2-8x scope on an AR upper. I love it -- it's a super-versatile setup. Makes it fast, easy and ergonomic to go from glass to irons by just twisting my wrist slightly..Comment

I bought the Dueck knock-off from Amazon. Seems like they will work fine. Reviews say they don't hold zero, but we'll see.
I also have a YHM 45 degree mount and a Burris fastfire, but the mount has a big thumbscrew and I can't get it to fit under the scope. If the thumbscrew was an Allen head it would fit.
For 3-gun, I'd need to go with irons to stay in tactical class. Another optic puts you in open class.
For anything under 20 yards, I just sight down the top of the scope. 20-100 yards, I turned down the magnification and use the scope.Last edited by brassburnz; 08-06-2013, 12:53 PM.NRA Life Member

I have run several different set up's and have come to rest on a scope and a 45 degree with a small red dot. However in a real life situation I would probably want to run a BUIS on the 45 rather than a red dot just to throw out any chance of the red dot not working. I would want the BUIS to be as reliable as possible."Men sleep peacefully in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."
