    Leupold Vari-X II

Anyone have any info/ experience with this model? I just bought it off Facebook for $40 and was wanting to know if thats a good deal for this scope?

The serial number starts with W. From what I can tell it may have been manufactured in 1989.

Also it rattles quite a bit from the eyepiece. I'm guessing that wouldn't be normal so is there any way to fix that or will it be covered in their lifetime warranty.

    Thanks

Send it to Leupold they will rebuild it for free. Just shipping and handling. I had the same thing a few years back and sent it in. Good as new.

That's what I keep reading. :-) Sounds like their warranty and customer service are pretty good.

$40 for a scope with lifetime warranty has to be a good deal.

Junk scope. Send it to me and I will dispose of it properly and give you $50
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

VX-II was the best they made back in 1989. The VX-II 3-9 x 40mm is what most serious hunters had on their rifle back then. Lifetime warranty will take care of the repair for free most likely for shipping costs.

Gunbroker has them in the $200 range, so i'd say you got a good deal.

All my bolt guns have VX II. They get the job done. Good luck.

              Ya, I'm thinking NO!

I just got an email back from Leupold and they said send it in for warranty service.

And this is a Vari-xII not VX 2. Looks like the VX models replaced the Vari-X models, From what I can tell. Either way sounds like I got a good scope.
