Recommend a good spotting scope?

Can anyone recommend a good spotting scope?
And which brand has the best reputation & which brand is advisable to stay way from????

I'm shooting with a USO 3.5x22 and I'm having a hard finding a spotting scope that is clear & more powerful that the scope I have on my rifle...

I find it hard to believe that you can't find a spotting scope that has more magnification and equal or better clarity than a 3.5-22 power rifle scope, even a USO.

I bet a Bushnell Elite 20-60x80 will fill your needs at only $700. If you feel like spending the same amount of money on your spotting scope as you did your rifle scope, then look into the Kowa 880 series, Leica, and Schmidt and Bender spotting scopes.

+1, but i'm not aware of an S&B spotter. Perhaps you meant Swarovski?

Zeiss and Optolyth are also top choices.

what about "best bang for the buck"... a good scope for the price? prefer in the $400 range....???

After some recent comments by some customers, I'd have to recommend the Vortex Impact 70 (same as the Burris XTS-2575, but backed by Vortex) for $199 delivered. One guy reported seeing bullet splatter on a silhouette target at 1000 yards, no problem. Another CalGuns member told me he could read the registration info of vehicle license plates at 300 yards. That's pretty darn good.

I actually spent time behind one. I didn't post on the blog, but have told Vortex and any customer who has tried to otder one. I sent them all back.

Spring the 1K for a USO spotting scope as nothing else will really compare to your scope.
