    noob scope question.

    Hi all,
I just got a Nikon P223 3-9 scope for the AR. I want to zero it at 100 yards.
should i zero on the 3 power or does it matter?
    sorry for the dumb question.
    thanks

A good scope should not have an issue tracking through the range of zoom. Having said that if you want to be ultra safe, zero in at the zoom setting you would typically use at that range.

Good luck, always a fun thing to learn - aligning your optics!

It does not matter. But I would zero at the highest setting. That way you can have a more precise zero.

For zero it shouldn't matter, but higher power might make it easier. Once it's zeroed keep in mind with that scope the BDC is only accurate at 9x(or at least, at the ranges that Nikon says).
The actual value of above $.02 is less than $.01 after taxes.

Zero at highest mag. go back to range at another date and confirm zero. If your zero is nice a boring, constant, and good groups, pull mag to lowest setting and try shooting. See if group size is the same, if POI is the same.

          It should be, roughly.
