    AR Scope for the Ladies

I built a light weight AR system for the girlfriend. I want to put a basic scope which is decent quality but under $200 or less. She will not be shooting over 200 yards. Recommendations welcomed.

I put a Konus, KonusPro M30 1-4x24 on my girlfriend's AR... they are under $200... I found one for $125 on DVOR (had to wait quite a while for it).

glass is surprisingly good (for the price)... it's got red (and worthless blue) reticles - not bright enough to use as RDS in bright daylight, but decent visibility in dim light/overcast... the crosshairs are easy to see of course.

I wouldn't suggest it for battle use (or even rough work/training)... but for general range work it's gtg.

Another option is Bushnell's new "Throw Down"... it's 1-4x24 with built in throw lever... SWFA has best price I've found ($241 shipped)... it's a little over the threshold you mentioned - but early reports of this scope are very good - I might put it on Benelli MR1 if it's good enough, otherwise I'll probably replace GF's Konus with this scope. *ETA: this scope isn't out yet - but due sometime this month... SWFA is a pre-order (of sorts).

If you are looking for more magnification... Burris Fullfield E1 (3-9x40) is a very good scope for the money... many great reviews - I've used it here and there on my AR and recently on M&P10... robust for the price with pretty good glass... it's over $200 but under $300... I might be selling mine soon (have a few scopes on order so I'll be getting rid of some optics).

There are lot's of choices of course... but those are the ones I have experience with... anything else I'm familiar with is much higher price range.

    Hope that helps some.

You might consider the Nikon P-223 series. They run between $150 & $250 depending on where and when you buy it. It comes in 3X32, 3-9X40 and 4-12X42. I recently picked up the 3-9X40 at optics planet for $169 with free shipping. Life time guarantee.

Shop our catalog of Rifle Scopes. Find AK 47, AR 308, & AR 15 scopes from Primary Arms, Trijicon, Vortex & more. Available in BDC, MOA, MIL, ACSS & more.

Lol if your girl does her part she will be out shooting you past 300 yards. Watch the demo video there is 9 year old shooting 400 yards. Then I go out 700 yards. We are shooting M193 out of a 16" nothing special but the scope with ACSS reticle.

My wife has a Weaver Super Slam 2-10x50 on her BCM.We switch it out with a Aimpoint M3 sometimes.Neither are $200.
I would look around for a used Leupold,Burris or go with a new Nikon Buckmaster 3-9 for that price range. The Bushnell 3200s are in that price range as well.
I use a Leupold AR 1-4 on my 6.8.I picked it up used($200),like new from a fellow Calgunner. My wife say it doesn't have enough magnification for her.
Keep in mind a decent mount or rings is another $65-$75.You need the higher stuff for a AR.We use Burris,Nikon mounts and 1 set of extra high Warne rings.
A Calgunner named Evil Dog has a Millett 1-4 on here for under $200.I think it is a 30mm tube.

What do you mean "for the ladies"?
              Scopes are gender neutral.
Are you looking for a "cheaper scope because she doesn't shoot much"?
Or a "simple scope cause BDC knobs and parrallax wheels make her head hurt"?
What kind of shooting is she doing?
Looking to benchrest 1/2" groups on paper at 100 yds?
Engaging live targets to 200 yards?
Under $200, I like vortex scopes. Good clarity and they have a lifetime warranty.

                What a simpleton...

Gurls scopes apply cosmetics and have GayDar, sheesh.

After watching WTC Bldg #7 being razed, and considering it's main occupants..

I stumbled onto this note while checking advanced weapons..
"911 = false flag. WTC 7 was brought down by demolition. 47 floors came down in 6 1/2 seconds - not hit by a plane. Just one of hundreds of absurdities that occurred that day. Wake up".
