    Need insight. Remington 700 optics

So i just picked up a Remington 700, but it doesnt have any optics on it, yet.. I grew up using iron sights and red dots/ eotech optics. I dont know to much about long range optics. My dilemma is im not sure what power or brand is decent. Obviously you have your bushnell, leupold nikon diamondback etc but what should i be looking for if im tryin to reach out about 700 yrds.

You probably need to give a little more information to get a good answer. "Reach out to 700 yds" is still a little vague. Is it one or the precision rifle oriented 700's?...or a hunting stick? What are you shooting?...paper?, steel?, varmints? Is weight an issue? Budget?

Don't forget that your choice of rings and mounts can be nearly as important, as most hunting oriented parts will not be sufficient with some scopes and shooting disciplines where many rounds may be fired per session.

Look at Vortex optics as an option since they have excellent quality and features for the price, with an excellent warranty.

Without a stated budget for the purchase, people would just be guessing.

Budget is you biggest limiting factor. Then reticle preference, then intended use.

I have a bushnell 6500 tactical 6-24x g2dmr reticle. Love that thing. Great scope for under $1000

Budget would help. Some here will recommend that you spend at least 10 times what you spent on the rifle but that isn't always necessary. This question has been asked thousands of times though, did you search?

Leupold or Nightforce depending on use and budget

TPS Products for rings and a base. Their steel TSR Rings and one piece bases are as good as anything else on the market, and typically cost about 1/2 of what other high end rings and bases cost.

Optics are highly dependant on budget. For under $300 I'd probably go with the Primary Arms FFP scope, it has a lot of features for the price. Either that or the SWFA 10X Super Sniper with side parallax adjustment. Bumping the budget up to around $800 opens up a ton of options frpm Leupold, Bushnell, Vortex, etc. My favorite scope in this price range is thre Bushnell Elite Tactical 3-12X44 FFP with G2DMR reticle. I have one mounted to a MK-12 style 5.56 rifle that routinely gets shot out to 650 yards. Coupled with a decent ballistics calcultor program on a smart phone, the G2DMR reticle actually makes shooting that distance kind of boring after a while.

Still a few in stock here for well under $800.00:

+1 for the PA FFP. I had one on my 700 Light Tactical and it was great option, especially for the money. Lower magnification is perfect for hunting, and the higher for long range targets. Plus the benefits of FFP over traditional non fixed power scopes is a pro. I threw it on some Leupold Dual Dovetail mounts and my rifle was ready to go for under $300.
