Another variable low power optic for the AR that Burris introduced. Curios about it. Reticle looks similar to an IOR.

It's pretty nice. A friend picked up the non-illuminated one and the hold overs for 200 & 300 are spot on (for his AR; don't know the load). Holds for the close stuff work too and the reticle is easy to pick up. Apparent true 1x power w/ a great eye relief.
Price points is fair and definitely a valid option.

Speaking from the .mil side, optics are issued, but there is usually more than one option. Burris is not an option I've ever seen. They aren't durable enough for military use: that is why I say I wouldn't risk my life with one, but I'd use one for plinking. That simple.--BrandoComment

So you're not military. You have an idea, but not really accurate as to how equipment is "issued" and are going to criticize an optic from a company with a better than average performance history. Burris inspite of what many might think is one of the few reputable optics companies. Their glass is awesome for the price market and the scopes...for the price...are great.
2 overseas tours and let me tell you...I, and ONLY the last one 'cause of the mission I pulled, was allowed to bring my own ACOG (TA01NSN) and JPoint. Not the issued (to some but not hardly many) TA31.
It's a good scope and for what it's designed for, I'd put it on a duty rifle.

I WAS 12 years Army including time in the Sandbox, so I'm not talking out of my *** on this. The whole point I was trying to make again, is that for general use they are good, however I don't think they're durable for military use (ie risk your life with). I've owned a couple different Burris optics over the years and both couldn't take abuse well. They are a good, inexpensive optic (ie a good value) but this model is being marketed as a TACTICAL optic. That tells me it's designed for MIL/LEO and for that reason I chimed in. Again, it's just that simple. Don't let me stop you or anyone else from buying one. I wasn't poo-pooing it; I was just pointing out that I wouldn't take one to war.--BrandoComment
