Decent spotting scope in the $300-400?

Planning on using it out to about 800 yrds. Is there anything decent out there in this price range? I have a cheap Baraska, looking for somthing better. Any info would be much appreciated!

Hum these have gotten alot of good reviews of late. It really depends on range, purpose, and price allowance but that's a good start.

This is a great first option for a 20-60x60 spotter. I would very much look at this one before going other routes.

This one for a few dollars more than you're looking to spend, is easily the best for the money in that price point. Kowa is REALLY hard to beat.

If you are talking about spotting bullet holes in a target at 800 yards, I'm not sure that's possible.

I was talking to some shooters and organizers at a long range match and was told by the best of them that the best spotting scopes are usually only good to about 200 or 300 yards regardless of price. Beyond that range atmospheric conditions (like shimmer) essentially eliminate the resolution of something as small as bullet holes.

Bigger is better for low light performance.

Planning on using it mainly during the day, it wont matter.
