Viridian X5L or whatever the newer model is...

Ive have had one in my XD9 for about 3+ years... Over 4k rounds though that pistol and Ive never taken the Viridian off. Never lost zero, easy to operate.

I don't use it often, as it seems to really chew on batteries when you use the flashlight, its mainly on there for HD.

Brother has one too... it failed a year or so after getting it, but the manufacture took care of the problem quickly, no problems since.

My biggest grip with it... no low battery indicator... when batts get below a certain voltage is just stops working until batt is replaced. First time it happened I thought the unit broke. Not sure about the new ones, hope that added that as a feature.

How visible is it in daytime? 20 yards?
Does it fit firm on quad?

It fits firm on my AR rail, but I haven't shot with it on the AR, I keep it on my pistol.

Its substantially brighter than anything red I have come across, but I don't really mess with it outside during the day when I shoot but depending on light conditions its pretty visible, but I don't expect much out of it during bright sunny desert days at a distance. Brightness wise its pretty much the same as my 5mw green laser pointer.

The only reason I bought it is because I wear corrective lenses and wanted it to aid for HD use.

I never really use it... its just on there. I shoot better with the pistol sites.

I have a Viridian C5L on my HK45C. I went for that model for fit. I got it off Amazon for pretty cheap compared yo other places. If the newer model won't protrude towards your muzzle, I'd go for the latest and greatest.

I have put mine on my AR for tuning my compensator.

I rarely use it too...but when I want to use it, I'm glad I have it!
