Need info on vintage Tasco scopes please

I recently aquired two scopes I'm trying to get more info on. Both are in the original boxes with all paperwork, cleaning cloth, ect., and don't have any scope ring marks like they may have if they were ever mounted.

I've searched the internet but can't find either one.

First is a Tasco 1.75-5X40. It's in a blue and white box, marked Japan and the date in the manual is 1981.

The second one is a 4x30 Tasco Pro Class Pistol Scope, model ER4X30P. The box has a manufacturer's date of 1989.

I know Tasco scopes have a poor reputation, but are the ones made in Japan any better? What do you think they may be worth? I'd hate to use them if they have collector value especially since they appear to be in the same condition as bought new and a collector may be kinda upset.

And just to clarify, this is not a sneaky ad or an offer to sell. If I decide to sell them, I'll post in the proper forum.

Thanks for any information you can provide!

I have one and use it .The Japan is probably light years better than any China/Indonesia current production.
    Just use them.

I have found the older Tasco glass to be of very high quality,I recently picked up an old Tasco binocular and i would rate it right upper there with some of the high end binoculars.
