parallex question for NF high powered scopes

When using a NF benchrest scope at 32X magnification, I find it difficult to completely dial out parallex. Is this normal or is it just a symptom of not spending enough time to adjust the objective?

If by "completely dial out" you mean, get rid of, at what range are you shooting? How are you verifying parallax is gone?

I look at parallax as a focus knob, I move it back and forth as I look at the target until it gets as sharp as possible.

I then make sure the rifle is in a stable position and bob my head while placing the reticle on the target to see if there is any shift between the reticle and target.

If there is no shift, I'm good to go, if there is a shift I try running the parallax knob again.

If you cant get rid of parallax error even though you're checking with a rifle in a rock solid position, it could very well be your parallax knob has a problem.

At that point I'd call Nightforce and explain your issue. They will take you. They have awesome customer service.

I was shooting at 100, 200 and 300 yards. I adjusted the objective until I could bob my head around and not have the crosshairs move. At 100 and 200 yards, I had no problems. At 300 yards I could not remove the parallax. The variation was small and seemed to be less than an inch. Should I expect the crosshairs to be motionless at 300 yards? How about 500 yards?

Mirage was not an issue.
