    Millett LRS mil-dot opinions

Looking for a scope for my rem 700- 308.
Only going to shoot 100yds to 300yds. I want at least a 18x power. And spend $500 or less.
The millet has everything but it does not seem to be popular. Is it junk ?
Or just too big in size ?
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

I also don't shoot past 300 yards and I use a Millet TRS 1 on my Savage 308, I hit a 6" plate at that distance all day long. Is there better scopes out there? sure, but I am not entering any matches. I have about 300 rounds thru it and it has held zero, I payed under $300 shipped though, so I thought it was a good value. If you are not going to go past 300 yards, I think going 18x's is probably overkill.

Junk it is. I would look at the SWFA Super Sniper fixed 16x. Make sure to get Mil knobs to match the reticle.

My buddies have had good luck with the millet scopes...
I don't think they are junk at all..
Just don't expect them to be as repeatable as a higher end scope.
The glass actually looked pretty good in the ones I have looked through....I have a couple of buddies with them.

A feature rich scope at that price = junk. Turrets are mush and not to mention they are 1/4 MOA with a Mildot scope. Parralax is a POS. Glass good? Please tell me how many scopes you have looked through to make that assumption? Compared to an NC Star or a Tasco this scope is better but not by much.

I had one about a year ago that I bought for a build. I sold it two weeks after I got it. The turrets are very mushy (a royal pet peeve of mine), the Parallax leaves a lot to be desired, the clarity - well I've looked through Tascos that were better and its too heavy.
I'm only smiling at you while you talk to me because it's hilarious that you really think I give a crap about you.

As I've gotten older I thought I was gaining patience, then I realized I simply don't give a crap.

I have two different Millet scopes a 3X9 and a designated marksman I have had good luck with both.
I just bought the scope you are talking about and mounted it last night.
I havent had a chance to use it yet but from my experiances with the other Millet scopes I'm hoping for the best.

You might give the Nikon 4.5-14x40 Buckmaster scope a look. They also have a 6-18x40 Buckmaster. I found them to be a nice value for the price and own the 4.5 myself.
