    Nikon prostaff

How would a Nikon prostaff 3.5-40 bdc mount on a browning xbolt 308?

      With bases and low rings.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

UC, If you are worried about the recoil on the scope, don't. I have shot x-bolt's with Nikon scope's on them and the accuracy of the combination (ok, Winchester Silvertip's too) was impressive. Using the BDC Reticle and Spot On Ballistic Program we hit 12 inch steel plates at almost 600 yards! Gotta love it when everything comes together.

I can't recommend a particular brand, but there are a lot of good ones out there under $60. You can pay a lot more and unless you are buying QD mount's, I don't think you need to pay the extra $. Med. rings will give you the best benefit, just make sure you have bolt and flip up cover clearance.
I know a friend who had one in the left hand version had problem's with the bolt hitting flip up cover all the time. He finally just took it off. I don;t recall any issues with the righthand version.
