    Newb question

Looking at purchasing a Monarch 4-16x 42 thinking the Larue scope mounts as well. Any suggestions?
Second question 4-16 means 4 power multiplied 4 times to equal 16x magnification? This is for an AR platform.
    Thanks!

I'll address your 2nd question first... 4-16 means the scope is a variable magnification factor that you can dial in from 4x to 16x.

As for the mount it prob will fit. You have to pay attention to what type of BUIS you have mounted on the rear. If you plan to have no iron sights at all then it'll fit. If you have a Magpul rear sight it may not. Troy folding sights seems to work ok depending on the eye objective outside diameter.

I have a prostaff rimfire 3-9 x 40 on my 22AR and it clears the Troy sight, the magpul didn't fit. On my other AR I have a Buckmaster 4.5-14 x 40 with a Larue LT-104 and same thing. (about 43mm outside eye diameter)

Your scope looks like the outside eye diameter is 44mm so I think you're GTG. If you ad a bultler creek flip cover you might have 1mm to clear but I'm not 100% sure.

    EDIT -
Ah.. found it... this should help. See post #7.

      Thanks,
The mount I'm currently looking at is a cantilever LT 745, with 1" diameter rings.
