    Streamlight tlr-4 vs tlr-2

Given that someone only has these two options as a home defense light/laser, what are the pros and cons of each? (not including the strobe function on the tlr-2)

the tlr-2 is obviously priced higher, and given the differences in the technical features and aspects, is one better than the other for home defense?

Hopefully people that have owned both, or use one or the other can weigh in... just seems like both would be great for home defense, why would one pick one over the other?

    Thanks in advance!

I have both. The 2 was mounted on an Ar15 with a remote switch and the 4 is on a sig p229 40. The 2 is both heavier and a good bit larger while the 4 is a nice size for the 3.9inch p229 and the body is plastic. You'd think the 2 would be more durable, but that's the one that had to go back to Streamlight for warranty service, possibly because of the greater shock on the end of an ar. Both hold a POI just fine. I've found that holsters are easier to come by with the sig + trl-2 but that might simply be a factor of being a newer product.

The ar now has a tlr-1hd and the tlr-4 remains on the handgun, even though I have the tlr-2 available. I don't like the extra weight of the 2 on the Sig.
