    Vortex Strike Fire issue, anyone else have same prob?

    Hi,
    I generally like the Strike Fire and use it on my AR in both red and green dot modes (mainly green) but recently the single dot appears as 2 dots side by side separated by a small space. It looks like a small line as opposed as a single dot. In higher brightness settings, there is a mirrored image (another two dots that look like a line) but with less brightness, above the dots in the middle of the scope. This is particularly visible in the green dot mode.

    When I first noticed it, I cleaned the lens because I thought there may be a smudge/dust or other foriegn object on either lens that was causing a reflection or refraction. However, the double dot and mirror image remains.

    I know the sight is not an Aimpoint and did not cost as much, but my daughter spent some good money on it and gave it to me as a gift for Father's Day in 2012 so I don't think it should be ready for the trash.

    Wondering if anyone with a Vortex Strike Fire is having same problem as I have experienced recently. More importantly, is there a fix for this?

      I have the vortex strikefire also and it doesnt have the solid "dot" but more of a star burst. My understanding is that thats how they are. but correct me if I'm wrong.

        I have two Stikefires, both have normal dots (no mirrored or star)...

        As previously suggested, contact Vortex, I'm certain they will replace or correct.

          Will contact them and update progress. I heard they have great CS. Hope so, I rather like this red dot, especially because it has some sentimental value.

            As others have mentioned. CS is top notch. And best of all, that product holds a lifetime transferable warranty.

              Update

              Guys,
              I called Vortex and described the problem. As you guys said, they told me to send it in for repair or replacement. Excellent, excellent customer service. I will buy optics from them again.
