    Good recommendations for newbie

    Guys
    I just jailed a browning xbolt stalker308
I want it as a target gun/ eventually hunting
It came w a barska scope but I hear there no good
For scope I'm willing to pay 250-350
And not sure on quality mounts,or scope ring, rails I'd need ....like I said I'm a complete newbie in bolt guns
I don't wanna buy a beginner scope as eventually I rather have a mid range
    Any help would be great

Redfield Revenge or Revolution, or the Nikon's are all good for a low price point. Next price point up is Leupold.

Barska will definitely live down to it's reputation

Made in Russia, not very good, barely useable. Just about as bad as the Chinese made BSA line.

Here are a couple comments on Barska scopes:

What I have found is with scopes you don't always get what you pay for...

A $9.99 toy scope that looks like a $1,000 scope will sell for $500...simply because it looks like the more expensive scope.

You must stick with name brands and read reviews. There will be some snob comments in the glass world, but you can filter that out with common sense and good judgement.

Many will steer you away from companies like tasco and Bushnell simply because they make low cost toys as well as high end glass. Read the reviews on the model you want. Both companies have been around for a long long time and thinking they don't know how to make a scope is sorta stupid.

In your price point, its going to be hard to find top end glass, so you really need to look hard. I suggest buying used from a reputable source, like a high post count member of an optics / firearm forum board. Never buy used from a low post count member or on gun selling website like Gun-broker.

              Do the research on this

Quality rifle scopes including LPVO 1-6x, 1-8x variable power, and long-range optics. Primary Arms ACSS reticles, Vortex, Leupold, and more brands.
